[ubuntu] My USB Dongle (Archer T2U Plus) only scans for networks and displays an empty list.

I was doing port forwarding in my vscode project the last time I used ubuntu. The next time I used ubuntu, my wifi dongle didn't even show up. After a day of troubleshooting, I was able to get the interface recognised by the hardware (it was showing unclaimed earlier). However, now I can't connect to any network because none show up.
Note: The same USB Dongle works just fine on windows, which is how I'm posting this thread as well.
