Auto restart openVPN if stopped - Cron help ?
Hello thanks for your time first of all. I recently overhauled my home network and server. I have never had this issue before but for some reason on this new server build i have an issue with openVPN disconnecting. About once a week ill check my connection info with ip route and sure enough my local ip shows instead of the openVPN ip's. I manually start the vpn from cli and its good for about another week. Would any of you linux/Ubuntu experts have a clever way to check and see if tun0 is present and if not restart the open vpn service maybe once a day ? I am using Ubuntu Server 16.04.6 64 bit with the latest patches installed.

[lubuntu] Lubuntu 18.10 7260 wireless dropping.
Hi.
Ever since Ubuntu 18.04 my wireless has been pretty bad with a lot of drops. Lubuntu 18.10 seems to be the worst of the bunch. Bluetooth also doesn't work properly on either lubuntu 18.10 or Ubuntu 19.04 although this could be isolated to a cheap pair of BT headphones I've bought (I need to do some more testing before I can point the finger at Linux).
Wireless is way more important and I would like to get this fixed please.

[lubuntu] Update killed my USB WiFi adapter RTL8821AU
Linux noob here. I had previously followed this thread to get the drivers installed and working, I think possibly from this source https://github.com/diederikdehaas/rtl8812AU
AFAIK I didn't have it set to update automatically after a new linux kernel update (through dkmks?) so after the update my WiFi is no longer recognised.
As per advice here is my wireless-info.txt http://paste.ubuntu.com/p/7PYCBkPVB3/
Hoping this will be an easy fix and maybe to have the driver working after another such update without having to sort it manually.
Thanks in advance.

[ubuntu] QCA9377 Unstable WiFi connection on Ubuntu 16.04
Hey!
I have a problem with Wi-Fi on a Dell laptop with a Qualcomm Atheros QCA9377 802.11ac wireless network adapter.
WiFi somewhere every 5-10 minutes just stops receiving and sending data. I can not connect to the router (192.168.1.1) too. If I just reconnect to the hotspot, then the next 5 minutes Wi-Fi is working.
With ethernet everything works without issues. On the second OS win10, wifi also working without issues.
I tried this: https://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2355396 , but nothing has changed.
Result of wireless info script : https://paste.ubuntu.com/p/dxcBcJxz7W/
Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this annoying problem?

[ubuntu] port forwarding Apache on my new router?
I just switched my service over to Spectrum & can't get my Apache server port forwarding to work. I still have it working on my old Frontier router but the port forwarding settings are a little different & I'm not sure if I'm doing them right or my ISP is blocking me. I called Spectrum & they said they don't block but they can't give me any specifics on how to get it to work.
My router is Sagemcom Fast 5260. I don't know if my internal & external hosts & ports are correct or if there is something else that I'm missing that also needs to be set.
Any help appreciated.

File Interactions Over Network Take Forever To Start
After I went from 16.04 to 18.04, I have been having issues with file interactions over network shares. These delays are inconsistent... I will try to explain what is happening the best I can:
* If I play an .mp4 file from /multimedia drive using VLC, it takes anywhere from 1 to 2 minutes to begin playback.
* If I play the same .mp4 file from the same drive using Videos, playback begins immediately.
* If I play an .mk4 file from the same drive using either Videos or VLC, playback begins immediately.
* If I try to copy a file from my local laptop to any network share, transfer begins immediately.
* If I try to copy a file from any network share to my local laptop using Nemo, transfer takes up to a minute to begin.
* If I try to copy the same file from the same network share to my local laptop using the cp or rsync, transfer begins immediately.
* If I try to copy a directory from my local laptop to a network share where the same directory exists, merging the two and opting to ignore duplicate files take up to a minute for each file to begin transferring.
* If I try to add a file to a .zip file that is stored on a network share, the edit fails and the .zip file is corrupted.
I don't have any clue as to why this is occurring. I am including the autofs files text just in case that might be part of the issue? Otherwise, any and all help will be greatly appreciated!!!

Wireless not working
installed Ubuntu on a Hp Laptop. But it didn't find the wireless device.
Windows 10 before the install said it was a Realtec RTL8821CE PCIe Adapter. I googled the issue and they had me run a script but that was unsuccessful.
This is what they had me do:
sudo apt-get install --reinstall git dkms build-essential linux-headers-$(uname -r)
git clone https://github.com/tomaspinho/rtl8821ce
cd rtl8821ce
chmod +x dkms-install.sh
chmod +x dkms-remove.sh
sudo ./dkms-install.sh
lsusb returns:

Please help new to Linux need to install Wireless usb adapter DWA-182 version c
Hello, pardon me but I recently installed Ubuntu 18.4 LTS on my Laptop Asus Vivobook Model X540BA-RB94 which I just found out it doesn't have an Ethernet controller. Now I was able to get a wireless USB stick. D-LINK DWA-182 Version C I couldn't find drivers for the onboard wireless so I got wireless stick. . I downloaded the driver from the site for linux for D-LINK DWA-182 version C
My question is how do I install the driver ? It's on a USB stick.
The name of file as a Zip DWA-182_REVC_DRIVER+_4.3.2_LINUX.ZIP
Extracted File Name: RTL9912AU_linux_v4.3.2_11100.20140411
When I access the extracted file and go to the driver I have rtl8812AU_linux_v4.3.2_11100.20140411.tar.gz
Kindly guide me on how to install this ?

[ubuntu] Slow internet connection
Hey team,
I've recently converted from a Win7 setup to Ubuntu 18.04.2 LTS, loving the clean layout but my issue is that my Wifi internet speeds are now really slow (2-3 mbps compared to 22-25mbps on any other device (NZ connection so that's pretty standard)).
I've spent the last few days learning terminal, looking at fixes and trying a range of solutions over multiple forums but nothing has worked. Hoping someone with more knowledge could take a crack at it.
Any help would be appreciated
